Dating and Mating – Real Life Body Language Attraction Examples

As humans we display confidence through use of body language, both consciously and unconsciously. Our posture, handshake, eye contact, hand placement and body position all convey meaning. But what exactly is body language attraction?

Is It In His/Her Eyes?

First keep in mind that the eyes have a language of their own that, coupled with body gestures, invite or deter others from approaching and engaging us in conversation. Think about it for just a moment.

Men and women display their body language differently. Men demonstrate dominance while women use more submissive body language – letting the male know it is safe to approach.

Men, if interested, start with a look in her direct direction but don’t stare; five to six seconds should do it. Staring longer is stalking and may want her call 911 instead of giving you her number. So control yourself and let her know that you are flirting with her.

What Are You Really Saying With Your Gestures?

Body language is nonverbal communication that is found worldwide. Some cultures have movements that are significant to the region but many are universal. Your actions are often louder than words in their effect.

Our gestures demonstrate our moods – anger, happiness, amazement, romantic attraction, surprise, sadness, discomfort, etc.

Waving

A wave is just one gesture that can mean many things. Probably one of the first gestures we are taught as babies is to wave bye bye. Nothing is more adoring than a sweet little hand of a young child waving good bye and it is a guarantee that it will bring a smile to any grandparents’ face as they turn back to their side for one more hug or kiss before they part.

A wave can be a welcoming to come closer or say hello. How many movie scenes show an anticipated return of a romantic interest with the partner waving to them to gain their attention before running to their outstretched arms? And let’s not forget the impression a wave with only the middle finger extended makes upon us…sparks can fly along with tempers.

Body Language Research Shows Importance Non-Verbal Communication

You may not consciously think about it while you are doing it, but the use of body language postures and expressions account for more than 50% of the messages, which you communicate to others. While you can use different parts of the body to send nonverbal cues, the important thing is that others understand what it really is you are trying to say.

Body Language Research

Did you know that a number of scientific studies have taken a closer look at the use of body language and the impact it makes on others? The conclusion: nonverbal communication is about more than what a person is trying to say. Body language is like a window looking in, giving others some insight about what you might be thinking or feeling. The facial expressions and body movements that you use when speaking can tell other people a lot about what kind of person you are.

Body language can significantly impact the impression that you make on others. In many situations, words may not always be enough. That’s why it is so important to learn how to communicate effectively, and that includes learning how to use body language to your advantage.
